Vangalapudi Anitha Making Her Mark

After Chandrababu Naidu expanded his ministry, there was widespread speculation about who would be appointed as the Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Names like Achhennaidu and Pawan Kalyan were floated, but Naidu surprised everyone by selecting Vangalapudi Anitha for the role.

In TDP governments, Home Ministers have historically had significant identities and recognition. From Kodela Siva Prasada Rao during NTR’s era to Vangalapudi Anitha under Naidu, these ministers have made notable impacts. Kodela, Devender Goud, and Madhava Reddy, for example, left a lasting mark during both NTR and Naidu’s tenures.

Before formally assuming her duties, Anitha conducted a review on the ganja situation with the police department. She committed to controlling ganja activities within 100 days and issued a stern warning to the police, asking any officers with internal biases towards YSRCP to resign.

Anitha is being compared to former YSRCP Home Ministers Sucharita and Vanitha. The latter were often criticized for their lack of direct engagement with the media during law and order issues, with Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy handling most briefings on Home Ministry affairs.

Anitha’s proactive and direct approach indicates that she intends to be a hands-on and transparent Home Minister, setting a new tone for the ministry under her leadership.
