The ‘Thalapathy’ Petroleum Strategy: Why Vijay Needs a Navy

Vijay’s promise of six free LPG cylinders for every household is a masterclass in cinematic logic. In a movie, he can take down a hundred goons with a selfie stick, so why should a little thing like the global energy market stop him? To actually pull this off without bankrupting the state by Tuesday, Vijay might need to stop holding rallies in Tiruchirappalli and start eyeing the Middle East.

If the “108-seat” leader is serious, his first cabinet meeting shouldn’t be about schools or roads, it should be about naval warfare. To secure enough gas for millions of Tamil kitchens, he’ll likely have to personally lead a fleet to the Strait of Hormuz. Forget political alliances; the TVK might need to invade Iran just to keep the subsidized stoves burning. It’s the ultimate “Pan-Indian” move: conquering a sovereign nation to fulfill a campaign slogan.

Promises are free, but fuel isn’t. Unless Vijay has a secret plan to annex Tehran, those free cylinders might be as imaginary as a hero’s physics-defying jump. It’s a bold strategy, let’s see if the voters realize they might be signing up for a war instead of a welfare scheme.
