Vijay, TVK To Lose Rajini Fans’ Votes Now?

Thalapathy Vijay is showing that he is indeed a political novice. Vijay started as a child artist and worked his way up as a leading film star. Then, the politics bug bit him and he announced his political entry.

UVijay started TVK which will be formally debuting in Tamil Nadu politics in April 2026. Already, Vijay has the Karur stampede case, his divorce with wife Sangeetha case and allegations of an extra-marital affair with actress Trisha, haunting him. Now, his party general secretary and strategist raked up a huge controversy by talking about Thalaiva Rajinikanth.

Aadhav Arjuna had said that Rajinikanth chickened out of politics at the last minute unlike Vijay who was brave enough to fight against the DMK. Arjuna said that the DMK threatened Rajinikanth not to enter politics.

Obviously, the comments didn’t go well with the Tamil superstar and he wrote a public letter stating that the allegations were baseless and released it on Tuesday. Rajinikanth had announced his political entry in December 2020. However, immediately afterwards, he issued a 3-page letter saying he will not enter politics due to Covid situation and health reasons.

But the political faux pas already happened in the TVK camp. Now, leaders from all political parties have come out in support of Thalaiva. And this includes Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran, former president Annamalai AIADMK EK Palaniswami and a host of other leaders posted support for Rajinikant.

The Tamil netizens feel the incident shows TVK and Vijay in poor light. Adding to the matter, Arjuna made the comment on March 12. So far, neither the DMK or Vijay have commented on the matter.

It’s a shame that TVK has resorted to drag Rajinikanth’s name into their game for eyeballs. This is bound to boomerang for Vijay as Rajini fans are likely to skip voting for Vijay and his party in the upcoming elections. To conclude in Rajini’s words – time won’t speak, but it will wait and give its answers.
