We do not want AP’s Power now – KCR

kcr power statementTelangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao clarified that his government do not need Power from Andhra Pradesh. Speaking in the Assembly, KCR said, “Chandrababu Naidu tried to finish Telangana farmers who are in troubles due to power scarcity. We have spent 1500 Crore to solve the power issue. Now we do not want Power from AP even if they are ready to give”.

KCR promised that his government will not allow single acre to dry this season. He also asserted that there will not be any power cuts in the state from March 2016. This new statement of KCR will put the ongoing PPAs issue between both the Telugu states to rest.

It is known that Telangana is awarded 53.89% Power from all the power projects after state bifurcation. But Andhra Pradesh had withdrew unapproved PPAs of new power projects of Krishnapatnam and Hinduja and refused Telangana share from them. They only agreed to share in the equity of the project for Telangana’s investment.
