
Ex Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi has requested the Court to grant him to stay with 5-10 others in barracks in the jail.
He said that he was put in a single cell in Vijayawada district jail. Since he had asthma, Vamsi said he would like to be moved to barracks with others.
The Judge Satyanand said he did not have the rights as Incharge Court judicial authority. He directed Vamsi to submit a memo in the regular SC, ST Special Court.
Vamsi’s lawyers filed a memo on Friday in this matter. After custody, Vamsi along with two others will be produced before SC, ST Special Court incharge Court Second ADJ Court.
When asked if the jailers didn’t treat him well, Vamsi said he had no issues. APP Kalyani said Vamsi was put in single cell for security reasons.
Vamsi reiterated that he did not fear his security, but wanted to be in barracks with 5-10 prisoners. However, the Judge made it clear that Vamsi will be provided a helper in the cell.
Vamsi said the truth will emerge if narcotics tests are done on Satyavardhan and told his lawyers to file a petition.
Vamsi’s lawyers filed a petition for bail. Following this, the Court asked the police to file a counter by February 28. As the deadline ends on Friday, the police intend to ask for an extension.
Between all the court activity, one cannot help but wonder what is the reason behind Vamsi’s fear and why he doesn’t mind staying in barracks with 5-10 prisoners.
