Investigations reveal that not only is the prostitution industry using these social media for promotions, but also for actual selection with agents sharing pictures of the girls and their vital statistics with their clients through Whatsapp. This eliminates the need for meeting and selecting the girls at public places.

Another benefit is that this method keeps them away from police surveillance as conversations made on these platforms are very difficult to intercept. Since police cannot track the social media conversation, the prostitution industry is moving away from phones and doing all its work through Whatsapp.
