Film Star turned Politician Vijaya Shanti has a special bonding with Medak Parliament seat. She nursed the constituency well and is confident of winning there easily. KCR wanted to contest from this seat and due to that reason, differences arose between Vijaya Shanti and KCR. The former shifted her loyalty to Congress only due to the sole reason of Medak seat. However Sonia Gandhi did not keep up her promise and allotted Medak Assembly seat of Vijaya Shanti instead of MP seat.
According to our sources, The TRS boss reportedly exerted pressure on Congress high command regarding this seat. He served an ultimatum to the Congress that the seat should not be given to Vijaya Shanti if there has to be any chance for last minute negotiations and a deal of sorts with the TRS. If Vijaya Shanti is in fray for Medak MP, there is a good chance of KCR losing as the former actress has good name there. Even her splitting of votes may advantage other parties in the fray. So, KCR played a safe game. It is said that Congress pacified Vijaya Shanti promising that she may be given a state ministry if Congress comes to power in Telangana.
