Will AP BJP take that drastic step?

The new President of Andhra Pradesh BJP was to be announced in January end but was held up until now. Every one thought Amit Shah will announce a name on the dais of the recent Rajahmundry meeting but that did not happen. It is said Ram Madhav is strongly pushing the name of Senior Leader and MLC, Somu Veerraju.

On the other side, another group backed by Venkaiah Naidu is opposing this move. They also warn the state high command that Somu Veerraju appointment will mean that the alliance with TDP is cut off and at the same time party can not go alone in the state. While Ram Madhav’s team say the party can only grow under an aggressive leader like Veerraju.

Veerraju is one leader who opposed alliance with TDP from day one. He also have the backing of the RSS. On the other side, Rayalaseema leaders say they do not have representation in the government or the party, and wants the post for their region. In case they can not be given, they insist on continuing present President, Haribabu. Lets see what the party high command does in this!
