The police removed the welcome banners set up by the minorities to support the farmers. Due to this, the minority leaders got into an argument with the police.
Later on when the Padayatra reached Azad Chowk. Local YSR Congress cadres reached the spot and shouted slogans against the farmers.
Despite having no permission, police remained mute spectators as they protested with black flags and balloons.
The protestors also attacked farmers with water bottles, Chairs, and Chappals. With the police not doing anything, the farmers sat on the road as a protest.
Media reports say that the attack on farmers happened in the presence of YSR Congress MP Margani Bharat.
TDP cadres and the common public are reaching the spot to support the farmers.
