Court Protection To MP Raghu Ramakrishnaraj

Narasapuram MP Raghu Ramakrishnaraj has secured relief from the AP High Court, allowing him protection to visit his village for Sankranti. His plea, addressing concerns of potential false cases and arrests by the police, was presented by lawyers Umesh Chandra and YV Ravi Prasad.

They highlighted 11 existing cases against Raghuram and expressed fears of additional charges. Citing past incidents of arrest and alleged torture by CID officials, the petition sought adherence to legal procedures. The government counsel countered, stating that Raghu Ramakrishna Raju’s petition lacked merit, emphasizing the need for a registered case with potential punishment within seven years under provision 41A.

The court, after considering both arguments, issued a verdict on Friday. The order mandates protection through the 41A procedure, urging adherence to Supreme Court guidelines established in Arnesh Kumar’s case.
