Home Voting System Records High Success

In a pioneering move, Telangana’s Election Commission introduced home voting for the first time, catering to the needs of elderly and disabled citizens who faced challenges reaching polling stations. This innovative system witnessed 27,178 eligible individuals exercising their right to vote, a breakthrough for inclusivity in the electoral process.

Vikas Raj, the Chief Election Officer, highlighted the success of this initiative, emphasizing its significance in enabling those above 80 years and individuals with over 40% disability to cast their votes comfortably from home. Specially designated teams, comprising election personnel and police, ensured a confidential ballot process during visits to voters’ homes on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of the month.
