The Congress and BJP continuously criticize Telangana’s government regarding flaws in the Kaleshwaram Project. During the election period, opposition parties label it as a scam linked to the BRS administration.
Responding to these allegations, Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao urged the opposition not to tarnish the project for political gain. He emphasized the project’s significance, highlighting its components: three barrages, 20 reservoirs, and 20 lifts. He noted that minor issues are common in all projects, citing problems in past projects like Prakasham, Dhawaleshwaram, and Kadem.
KTR also mentioned leakage problems in Nagarjuna Sagar in the past, urging BJP and Congress leaders not to defame the Kaleshwaram Project solely for political purposes.
