Formula E has officially declared the cancellation of the Hyderabad E-Prix scheduled for February 10th. The decision arose from the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department (MAUD) under the newly-formed Government of Telangana.
KT Rama Rao, former IT Minister and BRS Working President criticized the move, labeling it as a regressive decision by the Congress Government.
In a statement on X, KTR expressed disappointment, stating, “Events like the Hyderabad E-Prix significantly boost our City and Country’s global reputation. We invested considerable effort and time to bring the Formula E-Prix to India for the first time.” He highlighted that the KCR Government had initiated plans to leverage the Formula E Race by hosting a week-long EV Summit. This summit aimed to attract EV enthusiasts, manufacturers, and startups, showcasing Hyderabad as a lucrative investment hub.
