Telangana’s Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that leakages have been observed in Annaram Barrage as well, just like in Medigadda. He has been giving a PowerPoint presentation of a white paper on the Irrigation department in Telangana for the last 10 years.
Speaking at the Assembly, Uttam Kumar stated that according to the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) report, a leak of considerable discharge has been observed at bay no.28 in Annaram Barrage. Another leakage was also observed at bay no. 38.
Uttam stated that many cracks were observed on the pillars of the barrage and it is in a dangerous situation as well. He stated that the lack of quality in construction is resulting in damage and may lead to its collapse in the future.
