Teja Sajja’s film Hanuman is scheduled to be released tomorrow, with paid premieres taking place in various locations tonight. There’s curiosity about why the makers chose to compete with Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram instead of shifting the release to January 11.
It seems the decision is influenced by the fact that January 11th is a new moon day (Amavasya), typically not preferred for movie releases.

To work around this, the makers opted for paid premieres after 6 pm, considering that Amavasya ends at 05.27 pm IST. This might also explain why Guntur Kaaram is set to release on January 12.
