According to reports, farmers protested that when Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy was chief minister, their lands were taken over forcibly to establish the SEZ, and the government at the time failed to provide them with adequate compensation.

They informed Lokesh that the TDP government, compensated with an additional Rs 2 lakh per acre.

The farmers also told Lokesh that Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised them jobs and higher pay during his pada yatra before he was elected Chief Minister, but that he had broken that promise after taking office.

After hearing the victims’ stories, Nara Lokesh pledged to invite businesses that don’t produce pollution and to create jobs.
