In this competitive world, every brand wants to get ahead of its rivals, and one of the easiest shortcuts is to shame others rather than improving their own product. An interesting marketing campaign was seen recently with BoAt, a popular brand for speakers, headphones, and AirPods, which unfortunately backfired too soon.
BoAt launched an advertisement yesterday, featuring Boat AirPods on one side and a regular Apple product on the other. In the center, it is written “Think Different,” which is a slogan of Apple. Boat tweaked it to “Think Better,” and then it says, “Don’t be a fanboy, be a BoAthead,” as obviously many Apple users rely mostly on its brand value.
Soon, the advertisement spread on social media sites, and people came forward defending Apple, saying Apple is too big to notice these allegations, and the whole company of BoAt might get finished if Apple files a defamation case. People began criticizing Boat for its poor listening experience and cheap tactics to gain clout.
With too many allegations against BoAt, they must have realized that the campaign backfired, but at least it got some eyeballs on the company, and people are talking about BoAt, which is also not a bad deal. Let us know your thoughts.

Boat asking people to ditch Apple and go for Boat earphones.
It’s like Oyo mocking Taj hotels. People aren’t booking Taj properties just for comfortable bed & pillows.
Similarly people aren’t paying 23000/- just for the sound quality 🙂 pic.twitter.com/VdW0BvFo6n
