Despite the festive spirit of Bonalu and Muharram 2025, Hyderabad saw a disturbing surge in harassment cases with even women holding children and young girls being targeted.
SHE Teams acted swiftly, catching 478 offenders red-handed during the festivities. Out of these, 386 were adults and 92 minors.
From Golconda to Balkampet to Secunderabad temples, predators were caught in action proof that no space is sacred for such offenders.
The data is alarming. In just weeks:
8 FIRs were filed
5 convictions already secured
124 awareness drives were conducted across the city
But numbers can’t explain the fear and trauma victims endure. What kind of filth preys on mothers with infants or girls celebrating a festival?
Hyderabad Police and SHE Teams deserve credit for acting fast. But it also exposes the depth of the problem predators still roam freely, undeterred by law or shame.
SHE Teams urge citizens to report any form of harassment immediately.
Dial 100 or
WhatsApp 9490616555 to report suspicious behaviour.
Festivals should be about joy not fear. And no woman or girl should have to look over her shoulder in a crowd.
It’s time we stop normalizing harassment as part of the crowd and start calling it what it is a crime.
Let these arrests be a message: Hyderabad is watching. And women are not alone anymore.
Absolutely disgusting. Woman holding a child, young girls grabbed – and still, predators don’t hesitate. What kind of filth are we dealing with?
