Today was the day when the nation’s most revered to exam, IIT JEE MAINS results for the year 2024 were released and just like that the hopes and dreams of many young aspirants were realised while more were given the short straw, encouraging them to give it another try.
First conducted in 1961, the Joint Entrance Exam is widely considered one of the, if not the hardest undergraduate exam to crack out there. The exam acts as a gateway for students to enter premium Engineering Institutes like IITs which boast of an acceptance rate of less than 0.2 percent, a stat even the likes of Harvard and Oxford will turn red against.
Along with the result, NTA has also released the list of toppers and a staggering number of 23 students were successful in securing the seemingly impossible Perfect Score, out of which Telangana led the list with a total of 7 students accomplishing the feat.
However, this is just the beginning of the journey for them as now they’ll have to appear for JEE Advanced, the exam for those who cleared the first round of JEE (Mains) with flying colours and that’s what will ultimately decide their fate regarding which universities will be glad to accept them.
Another thing to notice is that there was not one student from Bihar who did the seemingly impossible. Although it is not right to raise this finger, it cannot be ignored that the state which has for ages been dominating the competitive exams held throughout the country failed in proving its mettle this time round.
