The car owner, a woman, was sitting inside at the time. Following an old ritual, people often place lemons under the tyres of a new vehicle to ward off evil. She was trying to perform this ritual when the mishap occurred.
Reports suggest she accidentally pressed the accelerator while inside the car. The Thar went out of control, broke through the showroom glass wall, and crashed straight to the ground floor.
The impact was severe, but the airbags deployed at the right moment. This saved her life, though she sustained minor injuries. She was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The fall not only damaged the new SUV but also caused heavy loss to the showroom, as the glass wall shattered and will need expensive repairs.
Fortunately, no one was walking on the road below when the vehicle fell. Otherwise, the accident could have caused a major tragedy.
