Delhi vs B’lore: Kurkure Double Standards EXPOSED

Kurkure palm oil controversy

A shocking report has raised concerns about Kurkure, a popular snack enjoyed by many. While it is eaten with joy across India, differences in its ingredients across cities are now being questioned.

In Bengaluru, Kurkure is made without palm oil, which health experts often consider harmful. In contrast, the Delhi version of the same snack contains palm oil. This issue came to light in a viral LinkedIn post by Vedant Khanduja, former marketer at Ola Electric.

Khanduja revealed that he purchased Kurkure packets in both cities. After reading the labels, he noticed the Delhi pack listed palmolein oil, while the Bengaluru pack did not. He asked why the same snack is prepared with a safer option in one city and not in another.

This raises questions about brand transparency and responsibility. Shouldn’t all customers, regardless of location, get the same quality and safe ingredients in their food products?

Khanduja also appreciated Revant Himatsingka, known for the #LabelPadhegaIndia campaign. He highlighted that such initiatives encourage people to check the information at the back of the pack, instead of being misled by attractive designs on the front.

This incident serves as an important reminder that reading food labels carefully is vital for health and safety.
