For years, the USA was considered the capital of mistreatment towards Indians, but the Maldives is putting up a strong fight as its newly elected president, Mohamed Muizzu, showcases prominent and disheartening discrimination against Indians.
President Muizzu previously promised to remove Indian troops from the country and exhibited a strong affinity towards China, a sentiment now radiating to the masses. One tweet from an ‘academically educated’ engineer is gaining traction, fueling the discrimination.
The engineer claims that the government should remove all foreign workers from the national IT sector but takes a massive dig at Indian people. Questioning the worth of some individuals is just the tip of the iceberg regarding his hate.
As more and more Indians flood the comments with their opinions, the Twitter user quickly deletes and reports some of them, making the debate not even worthy of fighting.
He also questions the credibility of Indian and Sri Lankan IT sector employees, stating they don’t know the difference between a virtual server and a real server. This claim seems baseless, as even in a country like the USA, a good number of Indian IT employees make up the backbone of the country, rendering the Maldives engineer’s assertion nothing but absurd.
The government of Maldives should remove all foreign nationals working in our IT sector!
It is a matter of national security!
