Barbie Maker Sets Up GCC in Hyderabad

Hyderabad continues to attract major international GCCs. The latest addition to the list is the Mattel Group, the company behind the iconic Barbie doll. Mattel has now set up its fist GCC at Gowra Palladium in Hi-Tec city.

Mattel Group is the world’s second largest toy maker and owns well-known brands like Barbie, Hot Wheels and Fisher Price. Their arrival in Hyderabad marks a major step forward for the city’s growing global corporate ecosystem.

Recently, Mattel officers carried out a detailed market survey in the city. They visited retail outlets to study inventory management, local consumer preferences, seasonal buying trends and opportunities for expansion in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. These insights will help the company plan future strategies.

With rising double-income households, higher disposable incomes and grandparents eager to indulge their grandchildren, today’s kids enjoy toys and experiences that earlier generations never had. With Barbie’s parent company entering Hyderabad, this growing “toy story” may become even more exciting for children in Telangana.
