Rs 60,799 Crore Allotted For Major Roads: Telangana

Telangana roads development project announcement by CM Revanth Reddy

The Telangana government has announced a massive infrastructure push, approving Rs 60,799 crore for the development of major roads across the state. Orders have been officially issued for the same. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for giving the final approval to what they called a historic allocation.

Minister Komatireddy stated that the investment would transform Telangana into a hub for multinational companies and greatly improve connectivity across urban and rural regions. Among the key projects, the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway will be expanded into an eight-lane expressway at a cost of Rs 10,400 crore, enhancing traffic flow between the two major cities.

A significant Rs 36,000 crore has been allocated for the Regional Ring Road (RRR), which is expected to be a game changer for the state’s logistics and industrial growth. In rural areas that currently lack proper roads, new connections will be developed. Single-lane roads will be upgraded to double lanes to improve accessibility and transportation efficiency.

The Minister further revealed that Rs 11,399 crore has been earmarked for Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) roads, and tenders for these projects will be floated soon. Additionally, Rs 8,000 crore will be spent on the Mannanooru–Srisailam 52 km elevated corridor, while Rs 20,000 crore has been reserved for the Future City–Amaravati–Bandar Greenfield Highway.

This large-scale infrastructure initiative is expected to strengthen Telangana’s economic backbone and support long-term development across key sectors such as trade, tourism, and agriculture.
