During a live TV show, it is expected that people maintain decorum and manners. However, embarrassing incidents sometimes occur, as was the case on the BBC newsroom.
The news anchor, Maryam Moshiri, was caught on live television pointing towards the camera. Suddenly realizing the live broadcast, a goofy smile appeared on her face.
The clip of this incident went viral on social media, eliciting a range of reactions. Some criticized her, sarcastically questioning her role as a face of peak journalism, while others laughed off the perceived silliness, forgiving it as a mistake.
A day later, Maryam Moshiri apologized for the incident, explaining the situation. She mentioned that before the live show began, they were counting down with her fingers, and as a joke, she used her middle finger when she reached “1.” Unfortunately, this gesture went live on air. The anchor also apologized if her silly act offended anyone.
Do let us know what would be your reaction if you face such an issue. While the criticism is justified. We must also understand that these news anchors are under constant pressure 24/7 and if something unexpected happens from their side there must be something behind their act. Trollers should think twice before what they write on social media.
This isn’t satire, an actual BBC News presenter got caught giving the middle finger live.
