The maker of Covishield, AstraZeneca, has now admitted that the vaccine can have rare side effects. The side effects can be very dangerous in some cases leading to blood clot and low platelet count. Covishield is one of most widely administered covid vaccines in India as well as the whole world.
This is a big concern as billions of people were practically forced into getting a vaccine. Almost all major work places and institutions had made it mandatory for its people to get vaccinated. Now AstraZeneca is facing a class action lawsuit worth more than 100 million pounds.
Serum Institute of India produced this vaccine in India and it was believed to be a safe vaccine at the time. The new revelation by the company indicates that a large number of people are at a risk of blood clot.
