The second edition of ‘Voices of Tomorrow’, is an initiative aimed at discovering, cultivating and nurturing voice talent within the LGBTQIA+ community and senior adults. It is a joint initiative of Netflix India and Kommune (a cultural storytelling hub).
The initiative is based in Mumbai and will collaborate with several NGOs, artist organisations and talent agencies to provide a platform for LGBTQIA+ members to explore their talents and hone their love and art of voice dubbing.
Around 500 individuals will be screened, out of which 200 will be shortlisted for in-person auditions. A total of 25 individuals will be selected for the ‘Voices of Tomorrow’ for eight weeks where they will be exposed to the intricacies of voice, accent and dialect under the guidance of coach Hetal Varia and dubbing artist Sanket Mhatre.
This initiative is not only beneficial and a way to nurture the skills of artists but Netflix will benefit with a new pool of voice artists to dub their content in the Indian languages. It is a one of its kind initiative and we hope to see many more.
