Whenever we are outside, one of the biggest concerns that some of us have is not having access to clean and hygienic washrooms. Public washrooms can be a nightmare for many and not every hotel and restaurant allow the general public to use their facility. The city of Bangalore has come up with a solution to end our washroom worries.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has submitted several measures at the high court to address the problem. According to the decisions taken by the BBMP, the general public will be allowed to use washrooms at public restaurants and hotels.
The move will ensure that these restaurants and hotels cannot refuse anyone who wants to use their toilet. Other than this, BBMP will also be allowing toilets in the Indira Canteens which had staff only toilets.
BBMP is also going to construct 100 toilets specially designated for women. It has also allocated a budget of more than 25 crore specifically for construction of toilets. These toilets will also have designated spaces for transgenders and differently abled people.
