In a viral video from his house, Ranbir and Alia are seen sitting at a dining table with a cake in front of them. As someone pours wine on the cake, Ranbir, just before beginning the cake cutting, says, “Jai Mata Di,” which is said to have offended some individuals. They are now calling for Ranbir to apologize for uttering “Jai Mata Di” while wine is being served.
As a consequence, a man, along with his lawyers, filed a complaint at the Ghatkopar police station, alleging that religious sentiments were hurt by chanting “Jai Mata Di” while consuming liquor.
On Twitter, people are reacting from both sides. Some believe it’s a minor issue, while others are strongly against Ranbir. The situation escalated to the point where there are demands for him to be removed from the upcoming Ramayan movie, in which he is set to play Lord Rama.
