A woman in Bhopal has asked for a divorce from her husband, accusing him of deceiving her by taking her to the places of worship instead of going to Goa for their honeymoon. The newly married woman in the month of December 2023 claimed that her husband had promised to take her to Goa, a very famous tourist spot with beaches and nightlife. Yet, at the eleventh hour he changed his mind and took her to Ayodhya and Varanasi, the two most holy cities for the Hindus.
The woman asserted that she had no desire to visit such places and also was deceived by her husband. She also blamed him for being a penny-pincher and also not spending enough money on their vacation. She stated that she was very dissatisfied with her married life and wished to end it as soon as possible. Ten days after their honeymoon, she filed for the divorce at a family court in Bhopal.
However, the husband justified his actions and claimed that he wanted to receive blessings from the Lord Ram and Lord Shiva for their marriage. He claimed that he had reserved the tickets for Goa, but he cancelled them after the rise in Covid cases in the state. He claimed that he never lied to his wife and he tried to please her on their trip. He stated that he was very surprised when he saw her petition for the divorce and hoped to reunite with her.
