Festival Frenzy! Hyderabad Drowns in Sankranti Travel Rush

Hyderabad is witnessing heavy crowds as you travel to your hometowns for Sankranti. Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station is packed with passengers. You can see long queues everywhere. Families are waiting with bags and suitcases. Children and elderly people are standing for hours.

To manage the rush, authorities have deployed 6,431 special buses. These buses are heading to towns and villages across the state. Even with these arrangements, the crowd remains intense. Many of you are still waiting for hours just to board a bus.

Railway stations across the city are also overcrowded. Trains are running full and platforms have no space left. Some passengers are sitting on the ground and waiting patiently for their trains.

The highway connecting Hyderabad and Vijayawada is facing severe traffic congestion. Near Choutuppal, vehicles are stuck at Pantangi, Ketepalli, and Korlapahad toll gates. Cars and buses are lined up for kilometres. You are spending nearly two hours to cross a single toll gate.
