Being a pet parent while working a full time job has never been an easy job. Even though the responsibility may require additional work, the job profile doesn’t provide the same relaxations as a conventional parent gets. Instant food delivery company Swiggy has introduced a new policy that is going to benefit pet parents and the employees wanting to adopt a pet.
Swiggy has introduced a new ‘paw-ternity policy’, which is for the full time employees of the company having pets. According to this policy, the employees will get an additional paid leave every year. This will be in addition to the annual leaves sanctioned by the company.
This additional leave will be provided to employees for welcoming their pet home. The company will also allow the employees to work from home during the settling in period.
The employees will be allowed to use their sick or casual leave to tend to the needs it their pets. The bereavement will now cover pets as well. This new policy has been trending on X ever since the announcement.
