Andhra Guy Trapped in Nude Video Sextortion Scam

Social media often promises quick connections, but it can also hide dangerous traps. What begins as casual online interaction can slowly turn into emotional stress and financial loss. A recent case from Uttar Pradesh highlights this growing risk.

In one incident, Bharat Kumar from Andhra Pradesh connected with a woman from Deoria on X around 2019. She presented herself as financially distressed and gradually gained his trust. She later offered nude videos for Rs 1,000 to draw him deeper into the interaction.

The conversations soon shifted to Telegram. The woman made video calls while keeping her face covered. During these calls, she secretly recorded his screen, which later became a tool for blackmail.

Over the years, the extortion continued. She repeatedly demanded money and increased pressure on him. In 2023, she allegedly threatened suicide and forced him to agree to marriage.

The two got married in March 2025. However, within four months, the woman reportedly fled with Rs 4 lakh in cash and jewellery. Bharat later discovered she had been involved in multiple similar marriages.

According to information that emerged later, the woman allegedly followed the same pattern with several men. Each case involved emotional manipulation, sextortion, and financial fraud.

This case is not an isolated incident. Telegram based scams are reportedly increasing across India. In 2025 alone, losses from similar cyber frauds crossed Rs 1,100 crore.

Victims often fall prey due to sympathy and fear. Law enforcement action across states remains slow, allowing such scams to continue. Awareness and caution remain the strongest safeguards.

Experts advise users to avoid sharing screens during unverified video calls. Enabling two factor authentication and reporting threats immediately is crucial. Online stories of hardship must be approached with caution, not blind sympathy.
