Telugu-born girl Avantika Vandanapu made the Telugu community by finding a place in Hollywood as she was seen in the recent English film Mean Girls. The actress has now sat down for a Telugu interview and opened up about the trolling she faced from the Telugu community.
The actress was asked about the time when she was trolled by Telugu meme pages and Telugu social media crowd for supposedly using a forced accent in English interviews.
“All the first-generation Telugu kids have this blending period. We carry the Indian English accent from our parents and seek the American English accent from our mates at school. This is the reason why the accent might sound a bit unconventional to listeners at first. But I expect our Telugu people to back and root for us when a Telugu girl is going to Hollywood. The insensitive trolling on my accent was a bit untoward and unfair.” Avantika said about the trolls.
This is a tight slap to trolls for making too much out of a simple thing. The trolls who spoke about her accent forgot the fact that certain actors have certain way of blending their accent. When a Telugu girl is setting foot in the biggest film industry in the world, she would be expecting support from her own community and not these trolls.
