Drugs worth Rs. 600 crore were caught by the Indian Coast Guards and the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on the 28th of April.
In the Arabian Sea, West of Porbandar in Gujrat, the Indian Coast Guards seized a Pakistani fishing boat that was carrying 86 kg of drugs. 14 Pakistani nationals were arrested in this drug bust. The ongoing drug trafficking in the region becomes evident with this incident.
This entire mission was a joint operation between multiple agencies including the Anti-Terrorist Squad, Narcotics Control Bureau, and the Indian Coast Guards. The overnight operation was a success that was able to put a halt to the illicit ongoing drug trade. According to the Coast Guards in a press release, the overnight intelligence-based anti-narcotics operation a total of 86 kg of drugs have been seized that is worth 600 crores. In this entire intelligence-based anti-narcotics operation 14 Pakistani nationals have been arrested. The official authorities are taking action to prioritize the region and crack down on the web of networks operating this drug trade.
The apprehension of 14 Pakistani nationals highlights the fact that the drug trade has huge crime networks involved and strict actions are a must in order to put a stop to this type of criminal activity.
