Addison Pierre Maalouf, an American YouTuber who goes by the usernames YourFellowArab and Arab, was abducted in Haiti by the ruling gangs.
On March 14, the 400 Mawozo gang abducted the YouTuber from Georgia who had gone to Haiti to speak with gang leader Jimmy “Barbecue” Cherizier. The group abducted Maalouf along with a colleague who was Haitian.
Despite the fact that $40,000 has already been paid, the kidnappers are still requesting a $600,000 ransom in order to free their victim.
A YouTuber with more than 1.4 million subscribers, Maalouf, was abducted in Haiti. Online rumours about his abduction have grown, and fellow streamer Lalem has confirmed that his companion was kidnapped.
Lalem released the final video that Maalouf uploaded to the internet, in which he was seen in a hotel in Haiti before he and his crew left for Port-au-Prince, the country’s capital.
Despite safe transit, Maalouf observed that Port-au-Prince is “completely run by gangs” and that one careless gang member with an AK-47 might still cause an accident. Maalouf announced on social media on March 10 that he was leaving for another journey and thanked fans for watching his videos.
Miles “Lord Miles” Routledge, a different YouTuber, asserted that he had communicated with the kidnapped streamer and that Maalouf was on his way.
