Anirudh Ravichander kicked off the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians with a power-packed performance.

The videos of the performance are circulating all over social media but reportedly, it was edited out by Jio Hotstar from the streaming. Fans are complaining that the performance was cut out because it was in Tamil, however this is not confirmed yet.

Some users are pointing it out even A. R. Rahman keeps his performances mostly to Hindi when it comes to National Television programmes.

Also, Anirudh does not have many Hindi songs and fans think most of his songs are politically motivated so streamers are hesitant to show those songs on a platform like IPL.

But a song like ‘Hukum’ does not have to be edited for political allusions, and it seems far-fetched too. Also, Anirudh’s songs are being enjoyed by Hindi audiences too after his pan-Indian successes.

So it is unfair to edit out performances like this because of language, as fans have been complaining it to be. In a match of Chennai Super Kings, it does not seem unnatural that a Tamil song is performed.
