Pak Star Banned: Indian Fans Go Ruthless!

Haris Rauf banned after Asia Cup final clash

The Asia Cup 2025 ended in a heated manner as the ICC banned Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf for 2 matches for misconduct in the final against India. India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav also faced action, receiving a 30 percent match fee fine and 2 demerit points for the same offence.

The ICC stated that Haris Rauf violated Article 2.21, which covers conduct bringing the game into disrepute. This was his second offence in the tournament after he gave an aggressive send off to Indian batters during the Super Four match.

Rauf now has 4 demerit points within 24 months and will miss Pakistan’s ODIs against South Africa on November 4 and 6. Suryakumar Yadav was charged under the same article. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh was cleared of all charges regarding the alleged gesture on September 21.

Other players punished

Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan received a warning and 1 demerit point for his gun celebration after scoring a half century against India. India’s Jasprit Bumrah accepted a Level 1 offence under the same rule but escaped with only a warning.

Fan reactions online

Indian fans reacted sharply on social media, trolling Haris Rauf with comments like “Zero performance but unlimited arrogance!” and demands that he should be banned for life. Many mocked the pacer for repeated discipline issues instead of his on field performance.

Rivalry continues off the field

India lifted the Asia Cup trophy, but the drama did not end there. The post tournament controversies kept the India versus Pakistan rivalry alive well beyond the boundary line.
