Case Filed on RCB

The joy of winning the title after 18 long years turned into a nightmare of sorts for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The celebration event turned tragic due to death of 11 people following a stampede.

That’s not all. 33 people were also severely injured. RCB’s joy was short-lived as the stampede has overshadowed the victory. The promise of free tickets to the event led many fans to rush to the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

A case has now been filed on RCB and Karnataka Cricket Association. The police say that their suggestion of holding the celebration event on Sunday, was not heeded by the government and the association.

A criminal negligence case has been slapped in the FIR on event organisers DNA. The police will also look into the tweet by RCB in which it mentioned there would be a victory parade on Wednesday.

The chance to see Virat Kohli got many fans to the venue leading to the unfortunate incident. While the Karnataka government expressed regret and ordered a probe into the matter, RCB has announced Rs 10 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
