Fans reacted strongly to the post across platforms. Many users said such content is not expected from an official IPL franchise account. The tone of the post did not sit well with a large section of the audience.

The phrase, even in a meme context, was widely seen as inappropriate and disrespectful. What may have been intended as self trolling quickly turned into a negative viral moment. The backlash continued to grow within hours.
