Gone Case: Goodbye SRH and Chennai!

SRH Chennai Super Kings

During the start of the season, it was expected that Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings would be the two firm favourites to win the title this year.

Considering the heroics of Hyderabad last season and the consistency of Chennai over the years, it was expected that these two teams would be in top gear this season.

However, the reality gave a tight slap to these franchisees and their followers. They are absolutely rollicking at the bottom of the table with lackluster results in the recent games.

In particular, Chennai has somehow found a way to lose five out of the six games that they have played till now. Hyderabad has lost four out of the five games.

Mumbai is in a similar position as they have lost 4 out of 5 games, but considering the kind of history of the club where they script comebacks out of nowhere, they’re still in the mix.

But the case of Chennai and Hyderabad, all factors considered these two teams appear to be down and out of the tournament. They are not showing the right kind of potential or the game intent to win games, let alone the whole tournament.

One last chance for Sunrisers Hyderabad will be the game against Punjab tonight. A win here would mean that Hyderabad would still theoretically have a chance at the play-offs, but this looks extremely distant and unlikely at this point. But we desperately hope they prove us wrong.
