In the final match, Pandya shone brightly, delivering a remarkable spell of 3 for 20, including a tense final over, securing a thrilling seven-run win over South Africa.

The emotions were clear on his face, and tears flowed freely. He shared a touching video on social media of his younger self in Baroda, where he and his brother Krunal dreamed of playing for India.

“Hum dono ka ek sapna hai ke hum dono bhi Baroda aur India ke liye khelein (we both have a dream that we play for Baroda and India),” young Hardik said in the video.

In his caption, he wrote, “Just a boy from Baroda living his dream and grateful for everything that’s come his way. Cannot ask for anything more. Playing for my country will always be the greatest honor.”

Hardik had endured a rough patch, especially after the controversy of taking over Mumbai Indians’ captaincy from Rohit Sharma.

Despite a tough IPL season and constant criticism, Hardik proved his worth at the World Cup. He scored 144 runs and took 11 wickets, culminating in his best performance in the final.

After the match, Pandya expressed his emotions, saying, “It’s very emotional, something was not clicking, but this was something the whole nation wanted. Especially for me, after six months, I haven’t spoken a word, things have been unfair, but I knew there’d be a time I could shine. An opportunity like this makes it all the more special.”

After India’s victory, an emotional moment unfolded as captain Rohit Sharma interrupted Pandya’s interview, kissed him on the cheek, and hugged him.

The moment symbolized their journey and the challenges they overcame. Despite the IPL controversies, their bond and teamwork shone through.

The internet was abuzz with reactions, celebrating this heartfelt moment.

“The best thing about time is that it changes!! Take a bow, Hardik Pandya,” one user posted.

Another called it “a moment we will never forget.”

This victory and the emotional scenes that followed will be remembered as one of the most touching moments in Indian cricket history.

From March to June, what a bloody roller coaster of 3 months it was. Only the best come out of such phases victorious. Hardik Pandya, proud of you.
