The BCCI’s strategy to host the remaining IPL matches at certain venues has not gone unnoticed by critics.
The board has been heavily criticised for its supposed ‘partial’ approach in deciding which city gets to host the remaining games.
While Bengaluru, Mumbai, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Delhi have been the chosen ones, others have not been so lucky.
Many on social media have called out this decision, alleging it to be heavily influenced by powerful state associations.
Remembering the ‘old times’ when BCCI used to be fair in deciding the venues, several people online called this an act of bowing down by the BCCI.
However, some others came forward to defend the board as well, citing reasons like an early monsoon or better defence mechanism for the choosing of these cities.
With speculations at an all-time high, it will be interesting to see if the board will give any further explanation regarding the same, or will this matter die down quietly to be added to the list of controversial decisions taken by the BCCI.
