The ongoing test series between India and England started off on a disaster note for India as they have lost the opening game very comprehensively.
The first test match was comprehensively won by England, who were absolutely dominant with the bat in the fourth innings and chased a massive target of 371 runs.

If we dive deep into the observation, then it can easily be understood that the entire hopes of Indian cricket team lied on one person, and that is Jaspreet Bumrah.
Bumrah was the only player who was expected to work a miracle and bring India back into the game in the fourth innings, but sadly that did not happen. Bumrah was a bit off with his spell in the fourth innings as he could not find the right line and length to bowl to the English batters.

If Bumrah himself is failing, then the entire bowling department is absolutely clueless about what is to be done, and that is exactly what happened in the game last night.
But at the end of the day, Bumrah himself is a human and he is bound to have bad days on the field. It is the responsibility of the rest of the team to get things done and create the right set up for a good bowling performance, but again that also did not happen.

On top of that, the drop catches of Yashasvi Jaiswal became another headache for the team as he dropped as many as four crucial catches in the game.
Overall, India was decent with the bat but clueless with the ball and on the field in the opening test match and the hope is that they will get better with the second game, which is going to start on July 2.
