Immediately after the prevailing situation between India and Pakistan got escalated the first major abruption in civilian activities came in the form of the suspension of the IPL.

The game between Delhi and Punjab was called of midway and this marked the momentary shutting down of the tournament. Several foreign players had even travelled to their home countries while Indian players were also shifted to their hometowns and cities.

Now that a plausible ceasefire agreement has been found, things are starting to look a bit more promising.

There are reports that the IPL governing body and the BCCI are contemplating the idea of resuming the IPL at the earliest. It was initially speculated that the tournament could be called for resumption by 15th of 16th of this month.

There are reports that the IPL could be shifted to comparatively fewer venues like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai in order to mitigate the risk of attacks which could be the case in the northern cities.

It is also reported that the governing body and the franchisees themselves have started to call back the foreign players for the resumption.

It is hurt that the IPL body is contemplating the idea of completing the remaining season in a quick manner. There could be more double headers in the next few days in order to make up for the last time and complete the tournament by 25 May.

In that case, the rest of the tournament must be completed in a span of a couple of weeks, which is going to be a substantial challenge. It has to be seen how the IPL governing body and the BCCI will orchestra the remaining portion of the tournament.
