GT and MI are two teams that have some bitter history between them when it comes to their rivalry in the IPL.
It all began when GT traded their trophy-winning captain, Hardik Pandya, into MI, giving the reins of GT into the hands of Shubman Gill.
While no particular animosity was visible between both players in real life, yesterday’s game indicated a completely different scenario.
Shubman Gill was seen increasingly distant towards Pandya during the toss session, even refusing to take his hand when offered after the toss.
This was then followed by Hardik celebrating pretty animatedly when Gill lost his wicket to Trent Boult, scoring just 1 run from 2 balls.
These events led to increasing murmur among the public, as they began asking if there was some real feud between the two or if Hardik was just giving an apt reply to a seemingly arrogant Shubman Gill during the toss session.
With MI now set to face PBKS in Q2, it will be interesting to see if Shreyas and Company can defeat the invincible Mumbaikars to push their way into the finals.
