Sunrisers Hyderabad is the only team in the upcoming edition of IPL to have a foreign player as a captain instead of a domestic player.

While virtually, every other team has a domestic player as a captain, SRH is the only one amongst the 10 sides to have a foreign player as a captain – Patrick Cummins, more famous as Pat Cummins.
Needless to say this record has been with SRH for a really long time now as it had David Warner as its captain for the major majority of the seasons till now. This Australian captaincy legacy is now being carried by Pat Cummins.

Strangely enough, even Kane Williamson was the captain of the side for a brief period of time before he was let go off by the franchise.
Notably SRH had foreign captains for the majority of its history, and this is a record that not many other sides can boast of. But with young talent, like Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy growing up the ranks, we can expect the Hyderabad side to have a domestic captain sooner than later.

Meanwhile, the stage is being prepared for the first home game of Hyderabad on March 23, as they will be hosting Rajasthan in a day game that starts at 4 PM on 23rd March.
