The Indian Premier League is right there at the top, along with other popular names like the European Football League, as well as the NFL, being the second-most rich league to exist.

While some claim the players to be heavily underpaid despite all the success and glamour of the IPL, others are of the view that the payment is already enough for what it is.

While international organisations like the ICC have upped their game, increasing the prize money for the WTC Finals to a whopping Rs. 30.74 Crores, the BCCI is still adamant as it has kept IPL’s prize money bottlenecked at Rs. 20 Crores for almost a decade now.

With countries like the US and Saudi Arabia taking more and more interest in cricket, it won’t be long before a new player emerges on the scene, toppling the BCCI’s empire, especially if things don’t change for the better soon.
