Jay Shah, the former BCCI secretary and the current chairman of the ICC, has come forward with a few words of advice for his successors in the BCCI, as well as the players, giving them tips on how to plan big to ensure the continued dominance of Indian cricket on a global level.
He said, “When I was in the BCCI, I had made plans up to the 2028 Olympics, but now I have moved on and come to the ICC, and other people have taken my place in the BCCI. All of you need to work together and prepare for 2030 as well, for 2032, and you also know what is coming in 2036; preparations for that must be made too.”
His forward-thinking style has left the Indian public quite impressed, with praises pouring in from all directions. People are acknowledging how Indian cricket reached new heights during his tenure as the BCCI secretary.
Although he has a lot of critics as well, almost all of them are on the same page when it comes to Jay Shah’s contribution towards the development of women’s cricket, not just in India but on a global scale.
The WPL, said to be Shah’s brainchild, turned out to be a complete game-changer to motivate women into pursuing cricket as a career.
With the 2036 Summer Olympics having Ahmedabad as a frontrunner in being the venue, the BCCI must step up its game even further to make sure that Cricket truly succeeds in getting global before that deadline, and that Team India remains stronger than ever to take on any challenge thrown its way, no matter the opposition.
