RCB fans finally have something to really get behind-and cheer for-at the right moment.
Josh Hazlewood, their star fast bowler, is back in the squad after missing a few matches with a shoulder injury.

That’s a big deal for a team already in the playoffs and fighting for that top-two spot.
Hazlewood has played just 10 games this season, yet he’s RCB’s highest wicket-taker with 18 wickets.

Those numbers—17.27 and an economy of 8.44—are pretty impressive for someone who’s been out with injury.
Hazlewood last played on April 27. That was before the IPL took a short break due to India-Pakistan tensions.

He headed back to Australia, finished his rehab, and trained in Brisbane as part of Australia’s WTC final preparations.
That’s a lot of time to miss-and a lot of pressure on the team that had to fill the gap he left.
In Hazlewood’s absence, RCB struggled to control games with the ball. Lungi Ngidi tried to fill the gap, but just didn’t have the same impact. Krunal Pandya has 15 wickets, and Yash Dayal has 10.
But neither of them matched Hazlewood’s consistency. RCB tried other options too—Thushara hasn’t played yet, and Muzarabani, signed as a replacement, is still untested at this level.
With Ngidi now busy with South Africa duties, Hazlewood’s timing really couldn’t be better. He’s that rare bowler who’s reliable in all phases-new ball, middle overs, and death.
RCB’s batting has been strong all season, but their bowling has been their weak link.
Now, with Hazlewood back, they’re better equipped to take on the top teams. His calmness and ability to take those key wickets in big moments will be crucial in the playoffs.
As Anil Kumble said, RCB will know exactly what they need to do to finish in the top two after their last league match.
That gives them a golden chance to push for a top-two finish—and an extra shot at making the final.
With Hazlewood leading the bowling charge again, RCB’s chances have really gotten stronger.
